A very beautiful shot.
loneroc (1233) 2007-05-31 14:09
This is great! Surface of the water looks almost like it would be covered with thin ice.
Timing could not have been better either - having the last (?) rays of the sun in the sky.
BobsterLobster (1417) 2007-05-31 14:16
Stunning, gorgeous tones. Love the effect of the long shutter speed on the clouds.
tehanu_f (6896) 2007-05-31 14:16
Unbelievably beautiful...Thanks to very long exposure, even the clouds look dreamy and surreal. As usual, this is a shot I'd like to put on my wall. Congrats.

Hi Adam, this is one of the photos I'd like to have on my wall. It's a peace himself. Water reflection, stones in the sea and clouds add a lot to an overall composition. Perfect !
rgarrigus (0) 2007-05-31 14:52
Your two minute exposure certainly made this shot. It gives me the super peaceful feeling of watching the clouds gently caressing the mountain tops juxtaposed with the glassy lake surface. The rocks in the foreground are simply an audience watching the play of light. I absolutely love the moody blue color.
New guy question: Since the 5D has an RGB histogram ( I think) do you still need to use the "expose to the right" principle?

Very surreal image, and very beautiful. Excellent job with the exposure and good choice on use of filters.
Well done, thanks for sharing.

An mazing scene here. Excellent choice to use polorizer and ND for balance. Great mood scene,

These seem to be your trademark shots.
Great colours and contrast on this one. Have you gone as wide as 17 mm on this one? Wonder how this would have looked with a little bit more of the sky.

The Exposure and the Color work is too good. The Layer of the Lake looks like a Blue Metal which is layed over the ground
vikous (2217) 2007-06-01 3:41
viktor here, busy to drop you answer in our discussion, but i have a couple of minutes to comment on this photo. Amazing view of Milford Sound you gave us here! Your work with big apperture, slow shutter and use of ND Grad filters is truly impressive! Congrat,

Beautiful shot as always Adam. I think I prefer the foreground in this one compared to you previous Milford Sound upload. Did you take any in the vertical format?
If you were alone shooting this I would image it to be a super creepy place. Or that's the impression I get from this shot.
robinlawr (903) 2007-06-01 17:06

Another stunner from here Adam.Stunning wispy clouds in the centre and a real sense of being enclosed by the two 'giants' at either side of the frame-great composition and superb definition kept in the sky.

Hello Adam, this is such a wonderful shot from NZ. It perfectly defines your style that you frequently achieve using long exposure. This photo is so full of mystery and peace at the same time. I wonder what made you stop posting these wonderful shots from NZ. Keep posting.. Lucie

I LOVE the coldness of the colours of this shot of Milford Sound... especially in contrast to the warmth from the sunrise in your more recent TE additions...
Again, the peace, and the this time the mystery of what lies beyond (and beneath!)
THANK YOU!... you are inspiring me :-)
christor (271) 2008-03-20 5:08
Absolutely gorgeous Adam. I love the blue tones and the light dancing upon the water. The wet stones in front pull it all together. I have GOT to get down to those islands.
