Photographer's Note

Direct contrast with my last posting. When rain comes to Milford Sound it can come with a vengeance. New Zealand's Fiordland is one of the wettest places on earth with average rainfall of over 7 metres. To be in the fjord in a storm is something else! Spectacular but quite difficult to get good pictures. This photo was taken on Fuji slide film on Nikon F-401 camera - hand held on the boat on the Sound. The boat was pitching quite dramatically so a tripod would not have worked. The rain was very heavy which has blurred the scene somewhat.
