While almost every photo of Milford Sound shows this dramatic fjord in pristine sunny conditions, I would like to show Milford Sound at its most dramatic and fiercesome. We were on the overnight boat & a vicious storm sprang up overnight. Rain fell in torrents & was still raining heavily and the wind was howling down the fjord when I took this photo in the morning. The water fall in the distance is Bowen Falls, 161 metres high, near the boat terminal. The amount of water pumping over the falls was incredible. I've seen Milford in all its moods but this was the most awe-inspiring.
Photo was taken on Fujichrome film with Nikon F-401 SLR in March 1995.

even if the sharpness is not so good, the picture shows really a big storm with the crashing waves and the cliff in the mist.

This is one hell of a shot of Milford Sound and probably the only one with raging and fierce conditions so far in TE. Can't imagine how is it like during your time there.
