The scene is framed well by the trees. It is perhaps a little dark in the foreground. I would love to see a colour version, but the b&w you have chosen works well also.

A nice composition mate. The black and white format really adds to the mood of the photo. Your perspective and the image sharpness are very good. An all round great photo Chris.

Great photo, the b&w adds to the somberness of the image.
What would a day in a rainforest be without alot of rain?!
Hope you had a wonderful kayak trip... Doubtful Sound is no doubt (!) a great place to get out in unspoilt nature :-)

HI Chris,

I always find water almost thoughtful in and of itself .. I am really drawn to images of it for some reason. The way this works from dark to bright .. near to infinite .. just wonderful .. the distant fog is perfect .. the tone has a dram like or memory like effect ..

Hi Chris, quite an amazing part of the world, we should think ourselves lucky to have spent time there. Good idea to stay within the closed waters on your kayak- we were down in Dusky when the mayday came in from the guy who was kayaking from tasmania and didn't make it. Such a sad story, all the more so when it happened in such close proximity. Hope you enjoyed your time there as much as i did- hope you survived the blackflies at this spot!
