Photographer’s Note
I took this photo from a bus window on the trip from Te Anau to the Doubtful Sound, on the west coast of New Zealand's South Island. The bus was labouring around the bends and up mountain sides. For the average traveller, this day tour is the only way to see the sound that many think is more interesting and much wilder than the famed Milford Sound. Having been to both, I would agree with that.
It was mid-summer, although it scarcely looks like it. This part of NZ is not famed for its summers, and travellers can be seen in most of the towns' main streets in anoraks, with their maps in hand. This part of the west coast has a phenomenally high rainfall, a good proportion of which fell on the day I was there
I cloned out dozens of small rain drops on the bus window, and fiddled a bit with levels, contrast and saturation to get a presentable photo out of it.

Hi Andrew. Majestic shot. Wonderful how well you cleaned the window. You definitely captured the isolation and remoteness of the place. It reminds me a little of those traditional Chinese paintings where nature reigns supreme.

Surely that's NOT rain Andrew!! What a super shot, I love the different layers of hills as the rain sets in. And the wet FG plants look quite stunning. Well shown, thank you

Hello Andrew,
A gray and rainy day, but they are a part of life too..!
For some reason rain isn't much photographed, in spite there are some interesting effects to capture...
This is a nice image, where I notice the way vegetation in front stand out against the humid background...
Nice diagonal lines in the composition, and the fading hills in the valley...
Greetings,

andrew,
you have captured a lovely landscape shot here. raindrops on the trees and leaves highlighted by sunlight is added bonus here. good gradual fading of colors in the distance is awesome!
