Photographer’s Note
This photo was taken in 2004 during a trip to the South Island of New Zealand. Lake Pukaki is 1 of 3 major lakes in the heart of Mackenzie Country. It gets it's amazing colour from glacial powder (finely ground rock particles from glaciers). In the background you can vaguely see Mt Cook (the tallest mountain in NZ) which again is a must-see scenery-wise. In fact everywhere you look in this region, there is something fascimating to point the camera at.
I included my friend in the shot as it gives you an idea of scale and also a great colour comparison.

Hello Lisa,
A good capture of this magnificent scenery. Superb tones and a wonderful depth. The fluffy clouds over the mountain tops add much to the mood. Thanks for sharing. Have a nice evening.

Beautiful photo of a beautiful country! It captures the majesty of the South Island landscape well. I have one suggestion only, I think the photo could do with being rotated just a touch, to level up the horizon =)

Hi Lisa,
the colors are wonderful but also difficult and therefore it was a good idea to include your friend! I have already seen many images here on TE from this place but you have captured these very beautiful clouds that make this impression so attractive. Concerning the horizon I agree to Cadi. TFS!
Warm regards
Harriet
