With so many vacant blocks where once buildings stood, post earthquake Christchurch boasts many murals with which the city has attempted to hide the many scars left by the catastrophe.

un soggetto particolarmente interessante anche per la sua particolare valenza monocromatica.
Bella sia la composizione quanto curata la ripresa.
Ciao e buona giornata

This is one of the beat mural/graffiti I have seen on a wall. It looks so lively despite the effect of passing times on it. Congratulations to the unknown artist and to you for presenting it here. Its a pity we missed the reflections in the puddle because of the dark FG. A fine photo, thanks for sharing.

This is such a great find, a well captured shot of this wall painting. I'm much impressed by the skills of the painter who captured this vision. I like that you didn't crop it too tightly so the painting remains in context. Even without anyone in the scene, it feels lively due to the mural. The reflection on the puddle has created a very appealing effect and some lovely textures. Good sharp quality. A beautiful piece of artwork.

Good morning Klaudio,
Such a beautiful mural this one. I love your choice of crop and the monochromatic feel. This is certainly a nice way to address the heartache that is no doubt felt by the Christchurch community following the loss of so many familiar buildings which have been lost.
My only slight hesitation in viewing this shot - and it is likely just my obsessive compulsive tendency coming to the fore- I might have paddled through the puddles to nudge the bright orange cone from the shot.....but then it does also work with your theme and is a valid inclusion to reinforce the rebuilding after the quake thread
Have a great day

Very moving image, the sombre colour palette creates the kind of mood one would associate with the theme you've been posting recently. Well spotted photo opportunity.

like this! Your POV and execution are so powerful and beautifully expressive. It sums up the post Earthquake problems so artistically and originally. Stunning work!

Hello Klaudio - The graffiti is lovely, I like the soft colours the artist chose and here reflected in a muddy pool it looks really good. Nicely composed and a very pleasing palette of colours.

Usually I am nit a fan of graffiti but when they are artistic, why no. great idea to cover ugly or destroyed wall by nice murals. Nice painting and excellent presentation with reflections. Well observed.
Have a nice day

Hello Klaudio Sorry for my delay to answer to your kind words.
Without any doubt, the Christ of the Bible was a woman, according to a face print she left on the Turin Shroud wich is in a way reminiscent of this old wall!

I like the edgy framing, which insists on the foreground puddles and pushes the ostensible subject of your lens into the top quadrant. The monochromatic feel also adds to the poignancy of the photograph. Together these technical factors create an "objective correlative" for the tragedy of the earthquake.

I'm a big fan of these large Murals, they really do make a strong visual impact don't they.
this lady is staring me down.
she blends in well with the brick, not the usual vibrant colors we see so its a bit different that way.

such a cool find! i could have spent a half day to catch different compos, povs and lights lurking over there. the bottom half adds to the intrigue.
jmdias (56931) 2014-06-23 2:40
very beautiful artwork. I liked the way artist used the base of the bricks creating a compo like the same hues with the face of this beautiful woman. very nice image bringing this for us.
