Photographer's Note

On the way to Arthur's Pass one becomes aware of mountain ranges looming far, then nearer and soon one begins to climb in altitude while clouds seem to be dropping from the heavens.
Before the climb, on either side of the road farms appear where cattle graze contentedly and as one steps out of the car, one is greeted by pure air and a gentle breeze- on a fine day, that is. Winter is a totally different proposition.
