A view of the Waitemata Harbour & the Auckland CBD taken from the summit of Mt Victoria in the suburb of Devonport. It was a nice warm day in mid-March. Two cruise ships were in port - the 'Queen Victoria' & the 'Voyager of the Seas' and the square-rigger 'Spirit of New Zealand' was sailing into the Harbour - a scene of tranquillity. Two days later the remnants of Cyclone Lusi passed through - strong winds, but not as much rain as predicted & little damage - a all was transformed!! My clients were from the 'Voyager of the Seas' but unfortunately I did not have my SLR with me, but was rather pleased with this result taken on my iphone.

A great panoramic capture, great detail. Just make out the cruise ship.

This is a brilliantly composed panorama made richer by the foreground of worn grass and viewers. You manage the mix in colours so well - a great result.

A nice bright image from this vantage point over looking Auckland. There are many interesting elements to look at, be it the skyline, activity in the harbor or the surrounding buildings dotting the city. The couple overlooking the scene is very well placed and is the cherry on top of a very successful picture.

For the past 5 years or so Auckland has been rated as one of the best cities in the world to live in and it's not hard to work out why from this superb photo, with clear blue skies, plenty of parkland, lots of green spaces and a gorgeous harbour. Of course it helps that I have been there years ago even if I am a bit biased in favour of Auckland. Tfs!
