I have to admit to being a little sceptical when I set off to visit Hobbiton, near Matamata, in the Waikato District, with a group of English language students. Their enthusiasm was infectious & when I reached the movie set of Hobbiton, I was pleasantly surprised. Far from being 'tacky' the set for both the 'Lord of the Rings' and 'The Hobbit' is well-made & colourful. After being left with just a few basic 'holes' after the 'Lord of the Rings', Hobbiton was refurbished for 'The Hobbit', and one of the conditions of the land-owner was that this time the 'hobbit-holes' should remain - a wise decision - and they have become a major tourist attractions for 'Lord of the Rings' & 'Hobbit' fans.

Only today could see your comment did in my photo of Buzios. I have read your are a guider and certainly you may be living the present situations of each day. I have watched on the television the film with these typical houses. But I do not know whether they exist in reallity in your country. I mean houses that were or are inhabited by people. I have seen quite a few of your country however I heard it deserves to be visited. With your gallery I will begin to see that land. Warm regards. Domingos
