Photographer's Note
ENGLISH: The name Champagne Pool is derived from the abundant efflux of carbon dioxide (CO2), similar to a glass of bubbling champagne. The hot spring was formed 900 years ago by a hydrothermal eruption, which makes it in geological terms a relatively young system. Its crater is around 65m in diameter with a maximum depth of approximately 62m.
The deep geothermal water below Champagne Pool is of the order of 260 °C but water temperature within the pool is maintained at 73 °C to 75 °C by losing heat to the atmosphere

Carlos

Hello Cristina,
This is spectacular. The level of sharpness and the colours are superb and really make the picture stand out. The POV is excellent showing the curved rim of the pool and the rising steam. Very well done.

Hi Cristina
This is a nice photo with nice information. The red layer here is amazing as is the vapors obscuring the blue sky. I am feeling the humidity of the vapor here. The world is full of amazing things and to see and know about these is excellent. well seen,

Hi Cristina,
Wow! What an incredibly colourful photograph!
This looks to be a fabulous place - in fact, I've just looked it up in Wikipedia here. It appears that the wonderful colours are due to some horrid chemicals too - sulphides of arsenic and antimony - not the stuff to drink or swim in!
Your composition here is just perfect. You have included the bright orange area which must be the real "star" of the picture, but also the beautiful blue sky, the vapour above the pool and the rough and rugged near ground at your feet. The long zig-zag line of the shore carries the viewer well into the picture.
Beautiful colours, perfect exposure and excellent clarity and sharpness.
Fantastic!
Kind Regards,
John.
P.S. I must add this to my favourites!

Hi Cristina,
Impressive view, it seems we are somewhere on Mars or in hell but.. with champagne! A beautiful picture with a well chosen POV. The red layer and the smoke give a nice contrast with the moutain and the blue sky. an interesting place to see.

Hola Cristina.
Saludos.
Luis.

Hi Cristina
This is something rarely seen on TE, amazing geothermal champagne pool and truly boiling! part of the sulphurous hot springs and the smells must be awful! The red ledge is stunning and so inviting, really nice scene, great warm colours, the steam looks good and perfectly composed this way in great depth.
Amazing scene with a brilliant array of colour that really makes this picture. Thanks for the interesting description too. Great shot, Congrats
Best regards

Hi Cristina,
A fascinating place, I am hoping to take the short trip from Australias to NZ in February. The orange strip really heightens this composition.
Saludos
