Photographer’s Note

...Here's another photo from my N.Z. travelogue .
This time from Wellington .
On February 25.th we had to cross Cook Strait from Wellingtom to Picton on N.Z.'s South Island .
As you can see the weather was cloudy and a bit windy, but the setting of light that morning was gorgeous !

Well !
I had read about crossing Cook Strait before I left Denmark. I had read about "The Roaring Fourties" which are very strong winds ruling here . I had also taken a look at a video in the internet( You Tube ) to be prepared , and having seen that ( "The Aratere Horror - Cook Strait Ferry New Zealand" )I was certainly not confident of a successful crossing at all !!
But : The weather was not so bad after all though the winds were strong enough , so it ended up being one - if not THE most beautiful crossing I have ever experienced . One reason you can see in the workshop : the ferry was not the size of Aratere , but a huge one !! :o)
There's also a photo in the workshop from our departure from Wellington
