Photographer’s Note
Taken at Upper Hutt Train Station. It takes about a 40-minute scenic train ride north from Wellington or 25 minutes' drive or to Upper Hutt City. The city is named after an English Member of Parliament, Sir William Hutt. He was a director of the New Zealand Company, which formed in the late 1830s that organised the settlement of the Wellington and Hutt Valley areas beginning with the arrival of the first immigrant ships from 1840. The city is famous for its many parks, recreation areas and rural attractions such as both native and exotic birds, animals, public gardens, art and heritage areas.
