Hi, Irene, welcome to TE!
First, about the photo: It's very well done, and not the easiest scene to shoot, either. You timed it just right - the sun is out of the image, so it can't overwhelm it, but it still lights up the scene. It's also well-composed, with strong minimalist elements and colors. There is a very slight tilt to the horizon, easily correctable with an editing program.
I read your intro where you said you haven't got one, but generally there are some simple ones that are free or nearly so; start by checking with your camera manufacturer (which is?) Even point-and-shoot cameras often come with something.
Also, if you have the camera data - ISO, speed, f-stop, etc. - it would help to post that with the image.
Finally, this photo shows you have a good eye - and that is far more important than the equipment or software you have.
Keep working on it!
Regards,
Dan
