Photographer’s Note

I felt almost with the clouds while riding a bicycle in Island Bay, a neighbourhood in Wellington. The terrain is great for riding, but it is also very hard as the hills are very steep indeed, and the wind is so strong that you can't really go fast downhill either. At one stage I almost got knocked over by a gust of wind coming from the side. The roads are also narrow and tortuous. Island Bay is the southernmost neighbourhood of Wellington. Further south is the sea and the South Island.

A scene that Italks to me, so inviting for a walk, the path is even there.
A foreground well lit, inviting the eyes to the lit mountain under the calm clouds.
Good 1/3-2/3 division of the view.
