Photographer's Note
I was walking in the hills above Paraparaumu and spotted this car wreck in a gully. It was at least half a kilometer from any road.
I thought it quite ironic that the car had a decal on the rear quarter which said "live vehicle"
I think it was a Honda City.
Dumping of car wrecks is becomiing a problem in this area, more so in the Paekakariki Hill Rd which has a lot of bush clad gullies.
The Fire Service has been called out several times in the last month for accidents up there, which turned out to be old wrecks. Passing motorists not travelling through regularily had mistaken the wrecks for an emergency.
Crazy when you can dispose of old cars at the local Waste Disposal Site for $15 and not pollute the environment.

Pauvre voiture abandonnée dans l'herbe !
La photo est bien prise et la voiture est en train de se fondre avec le paysage mais il reste le problème de la pollution. J'ai ajouté ce cliché au thème "Abandoned cars"

Hello Mike,
The ugly and wasteful side of the world has to be shown, as in this picture. And what irony, as you point out. Good note.
John
