Photographer’s Note
The devil features quite a bit in Wai-O-Tapu’s scenic walk. This sunken crater, which is at the start of the three km walk, is called the Devil’s Home. Here the underground acid action has caused the ground to collapse. The sides are rough and the yellow/greenish colours are caused by the cooling volcanic vapours. The name suits this foul smelling place.

Hallo Klaudio!
An impressive entrance to the underworld - and a good view to the following miracles along this walk. You managed the difficult light here well. The shady part of the hole adds a lot to the atmosphere here. This must be a very special place indeed ...
Greetings from autumnal grey Germany!

Hi Klaudio. It’s times like this I’m glad we can’t smell photos ;-), it does bring back the memories though. Nice capture. Good natural colours and good sharpness and compo. Thanks for sharing.
Have a good weekend, Paul.

Hi Klaudio,
Looks like you have got plenty of good shots in your bag ready to be posted. NZ seem to be a great place for photo hunters, but unfortunately I did not even have a camera when I was there 15 years ago. Your good photo certainly make up for what I have missed.
A good POV here with the great big devil's home in the Fg and the steaming fog in the BG.
Cheers
Alfred

hi Klaudio,
apt name for the place, the crater looks quite menacing, and I can easily imagine the smell of sulphur. I like a lot how you have composed the photo, placing the crater right in front allows the viewer to appreciate the textures. very nice work, my compliments.

Kristine

Dragi Dado,
i ova i prethodna fotka su ti izvanredne i prikazuju nešto što nikada sam ne bih video. Inspirativan izbor i odlična tehnička realizacija. Zbog ovakvih slika ostajem na ovom sajtu. Sedim, a putujem i uživam. Bilo mi je velika zadovoljstvo da te večeras posetim. Puno pozdrava za tebe i tvoje.

Hi Klaudio,
So, the entrance to the middle world, actually it reminds me of the scene in Star Wars (I forget which Star Wars) when they flew into the crater but it happened to be into the belly of some giant space worm with big teeth.
Good use of the vertical crop to focus the attention onto the crater, filling the foreground with it makes the shot very interesting to view. Good sharps, and nicely balanced exposure. I won't even think about the smell.
Regards
Peter

Hello Klaudio,
The name for this crater fits very well to it. Good composition in vertical format, excellent control of light and very good colours. A very impressive place.

Hi Klaudio,
Many thanks for showing such unusual and beautiful places without making us feeling "this foul smell" you had to endure when snapping! Each your shot is a good example for me how a good composition should be found and how a perfect quality should be achieved. Thanks again,
Sergiy
