Photographer’s Note

I checked in at the hotel by the Rotorua lake in late afternoon. I walked to the lake as soon as possible and took a number of photos. The one posted with a blue sky was taken at that time. The following morning, as soon as I could, I walked to the shore of the lake, for when I looked from my hotel window, I saw the lake shrouded in thick fog. I loved the eerie atmosphere and the changes in light as the sun tried to break through. The Lakeland Queen and an umber of amphibian planes stood out in stark contrast to the indistinguishable world in front of me .It really was a wonderful awakening of the day. I have written in detail about Rotorua and the Lakeland Queen for my previous shot.

A lovely ethereal image full of atmosphere. Well balanced composition with all the elements (pier, boat, planes) nicely placed geometrically. Lovely tones, but most of all great lighting and well managed exposure.

Nice capture of the foggy morning atmosphere. The shapes & colors of all objects & structures seen here are all blending together into a well balanced linear & geometric composition. Sharp & clear sunlit landing platform in the foreground provide interesting contrast to the scene behind. Love the effect on the fog as the sun is trying to break through. Don't mind to wake up a early to this. Regards. Latiff.

ANother beautiful image with great magic atmosphere, compliments Klaudio, the image is well composed and have beautiful perspective, also interesting subjects, but over it have excellent soft mist atmosphre, bravo.

Amazing atmosphere, looks "out of this world". Allthough this mist could make someone feel afraid, that the "ferryman" could take him to the "other side", my love for travelling draws me to that beautiful steamboat. Excellent composition and light managment. Congratulations!

A magical shot, Klaudio! I like how the morning sun protruding through the clouds creates a nice contrast against the dark, cold, threatening sky and the fog. The rythm of poles at the docks and details of the boat provide nice material for eyes to wander. My compliments!
