Photographers Note
A few more cows today. View of Mt Taranaki (2518m. elev.) from the New Plymouth-Stratford road. The road is a fast one, and I almost had an accident suddenly pulling over and stopping by the side. The shadows came out really dark, I tried sloppily to lighten them in photoshop, not enough to give enough detail though. Taken about 1hr before sunset, with the full 210mm zoom, portable tripod mounted on top of the car.
The volcano last erupted in 1755.

Hi Tan, I like this picture. There is a lot of shadow hanging over the right side, but the terraslike hill on the left and the beautiful snowcapt vulcano compensate that easily.
Thanks and rgards, Gerrit

Hi Tan. I really don't mind the deep shadows because it does such good tings for the saturation. It is fun seeing the light hit all of the terraces or steps on the side of the hill. Wonderful shot Tan!

Hello Tan,
You were very lucky with the weather!
I know Mt. Egmont only with the head fully covered by clouds - and from postcards.
Fairly exclusive POV and very green ;-)

Hi Tan
Great picture with climber-cows and beautiful perspective at the mountain. But the colours are overprocessed in my opinion.
Have a nice day.

Hello Tan,
the green in your picture is kind of strange, the mountain is very sharp.
merry Christmas to you and your family,
Luc.

Great shot! I like the strong diagonal in this, with the slope of the mountain going up to the right, at exactly the same angle as the shadows on the hill. The colours are very saturated and beautiful to look at. The fence at the bottom I think is quite important, because it adds a lot of depth. Well done!

Hello Tan,
What a beautiful picture. The white mountain against the blue sky is amazing aswell as the lush green colors of the mountain side. Great composition with stunning color combination and good accent of the cows. Well captured and well done!
Have a wonderful Christmas and may 2006 bring you all the things you like!
Take care,
Ann

Tan this is amazing. I love the details and sweeping triangle shaped shadow through the hillside. Very effective lines and elements in this scene. A real treat to view...just like all your photos! Thanks for bringing high quality images to TE!

Hello Tan,
New-Zealand is really a fantastic country and a paradise for photographers... The constrast beetween this green grass and blue sky, the emergence of this peak compose a wonderful image. Congratulations.
A pity the scan maybe not that good...
Merry Xmas !

Hi Tan
The composition & sharpness are superb, but the grass appears slightly oversaturated on my monitor. I like the repetition & depth added by the fg fence, & the graphism of the solitary peak of Mt Egmont against the blue sky. Good work overall.

Merhaba Tan! This is a fantastic shot with stunning colours. Actually I don't mind the shadow, it's actually a quite interesting feature because of its near symmetry with the peak. Thanks and kind regards, Chris

Dear Tan,
there is something unfair with your photos. You give me nothing to criticize. Loyal blue, lifeful green and happy cows; this is the picture of dreamland.
Happy new year,

Hi Tan,

Kia Ora Tan,
This one has suffrend a bit from the scan but the upwards angle and left to right progression to finally end on the snow capped peak is well thought. Looks like you're in a cow period ;-)
Merry Christmas,

Hello Tan! Very nice capture here, it's a really strong composition. I am surprised that will all these critiques no one mentions the aparent vignetting caused by your polarizer. But still very nice!

It was already a great view at the thumbnail and when I opened the bigger view, the cows came as a promotion adding certain humour to the picture. Very strong tones and contours. Could probably have been a better picture without the shadow right in the middle, but what are you going to do about it? Ellerine saglik.. Cheers,

Hi Tan,
This is such a true photo!! I love the way the light falls across those little grooves worn by the anaimals and highlights them. Although, I thought they were more prevalent in fields with sheep. HLJ, Pat

Hi,
very nicely composed picture. Beautiful colours and contrast. the mountain is sharp and beautiful, but the greens looks a bit 'unreal'.
