A burgeoning interest in night photography, inspired this photograph, shot in raw mode, this is the first adjustment. This photograph was taken from my front veranda, I consider myself to be very blessed to be able to live here and watch the moods of Mt Taranaki change to the East along with the expanse of the wild West Coast and the horizon to the West, all the while being surrounded by this unique volcanic rural landscape.

Namaskar Mike Johnson,
Wonderful Picture. Beautiful colour, contrast and sharpness. Nice POV.

When in New Zealand a few years ago, our flight from Brisbane to Christchurch was diverted to Auckland because heavy fog foiled 3 attempts at landing. So the following evening, while flying from Auckland to Christchurch I was watching out of my left-side window over the North Island's Western coastline. To my complete surprise we passed by Mt. Taranaki, the surrounding landscape completely dark with only the snowline and above caught in the golden light of the near-set sun. I took a few photos, the best of which were my first posts on this site. I congratulate you on this unique night photo of this ever changing mountain. I'd love to see it from the ground someday, as my visit to Taranaki was thwarted by bad weather. Thanks for your post, highlighting this wonderful scene.
