#5 in Patea series: Aptly named Egmont St., Patea.
The mountain with two names, Mt Taranaki/Mt Egmont 60 km in the distance, which starred as Mt. Doom in the Lord of the Rings, and Mt. Fuji in The Last Samurai.
Patea is the forgotten town, half-way between provincial cities on State Highway 3, in a beautiful part of the country where Old Zealand can still be found. In New Plymouth, we got "Have you got family there? There's no other reason to go there, eh?" followed by an embarrased silence.

I like this aspect, with the street in the foreground, and the mountain in the background. Kind of reminiscent of Mt. Rainier in Seattle.
My only improvement suggestion would have been to wait until the truck and the car had gone - this would have given more of a sense of desolation and emptiness, and emphaisized the mountain more too.

Funny, it remindes me on the US of A. An interesting photo indeed, but not to sharp, unfortuantely.
