Photographer's Note
This is the first glimpse you get of Mt Taranaki (also called Mt Egmont) when you approach by the Mangorei Track. The track goes up the slope of Mt Pouakai, mainly in forest. Towards the top this view opens up at a break in the forest, with Taranaki's summit peeking over the summit ridge of Mt Pouakai.
I had to underexpose the telephoto shot so as not to burn out the bright snow on the summit. I brightened up the forest a bit in Photoshop, but not too much. I wanted the snowy mountain top to stand out against everything else.

A spectacular first glimpse Vince and well handled to give the mountain detail. The contrast between the mountain snow and the forest is very impressive.

Hi Vincent,
Nice light on the snow which is nicely exposed given the darker forest in the foreground. Excellent POV giving an initial impression that you are in an aircraft above the forest but the tree bottom right corner brings back into perspective.

Hello Vincent, this is not an easy subject to expose for yet you have managed it pretty well, the snowy peaks are outlined perfectly in a spectacular landscape.
Well done.
Les.
