Photographer’s Note
This is another shot of Whangarei Falls but from a slightly different angle. This really is a wonderful location.
Again, the light made things difficult but I liked the picture enough to include it. If anyone can suggest how I should reduce the glare of the sky without sacrificing the amount of light on the subject and in the foreground, please advise me. My skills as a photographer don’t yet match my enthusiasm….. :-(
Kind regards,
Tony

Hi Tony,
This looks like a lovely place! I'm not very accomplished with the use of filters, but one way you might cut the "glare" is to try a polarizer or a graduated neutral density filter. I've found both to be quite helpful in settings like this one.
Cheers!

For a French guy living in Hollaned and familiar with European or Middle-Eastern environments as I am, the landscape of New Zealand are a bit like coming from another planet. Just as if you had mixed a typical Alpine mountain area with a tropical rainforest and added some extraterrestrial animals (cf. your pictures of the weta). Therefore such pictures that are maybe so familiar for you are just amazing for people like me. Great to learn more about your country.
Thanks for sharing.
