Photographer’s Note
The view is obvious and the observer is not blind, though I’m not sure he saw me ;-). This was also taken during our recent cold snap. This is Stormy Point Lookout and the gentleman is doing just that, looking out at the aftermath of the recent storm.
I was standing on the opposite side of the road photographing as much of the scene as I could when this guy showed up and “posed” for me. In workshop is a shot taken about 30 seconds earlier and I added it for just a slightly different perspective of the scene.
Both shots converted from Raw.
Enjoy, Paul.

Hello Paul
Hope your well, great capture showing us the bad weather here, the lighting in the foreground is superb with excellent composition. Love the snow capped mountains, but I love the fact that he looks like he is looking over them by a fair amount.
Well captured

Hi Paul,
the mixture of the green where you stand and the white background is astonishing because the background seems to be lower. Nice capture of a moment with the guy on the look out, a bit too centred in my eyes. Maybe a small crop of the right..

Hi Paul,
A well built image with good choice of selective focus to blur the said view, while keeping the 'viewer' sharp. The view is indeed spectacular! Sky is a bit bright, but no real issue in there... Good one

hehe, the title is funny, Paul. What a terrible weather in the distance. Still, it's nice and sunny in the closer view of the landscape and the WS gives a nicer image of that, beeing more sharp and focused. But I prefer this one with the observer and his red coat making a nice contrast of color. I would say it's quite cold but he's wearing shorts...
Cheers,

Hi Paul,
It is an impressive observatory, with a great sight of this covered with snow landscape.
Your capture is magnificent, the man gives a good reference to the depth of image, and though the WS has a better focus, I like this one, it have more life.
Good work, my friend.

hi Paul
A tricky shot like this with very good FG contrast and exposure vs the harsh light falling on the snow blanket but which provides a very good backdrop for this guy standing on the platform. He makes all the difference to your capture.
A great moment's timing. I like your choice of light coming from left.

He must be a hardy soul wearing shorts in the middle of winter with snow on the ground. I definitely prefer this with the man enjoying the view, although the sharper focus on the background in the WS is better. I'm not sure how much smaller aperture you would have needed to have them both in focus, but maybe not possible without a tripod, especially at 200mm. Because of the symmetry I think the central composition works well.

Very nice "action" shot, there is a direction given by the subject and centered position ( in the photo and right in the window formed by the opening of the terrace) is a good opportunity to offer the wide hills landscape.

Hello Paul
Very intresting! Normally a photographer like me would rush to where the guy is standing to take this shot. But the inclusion of the man, in sharp focus is a great add IMO, when I compare with the WS. Good symmetry, nice exposure, especially in the FG. Like this mini series of yours as well. Good work!

Hello Paul:
Thank you my friend, for visiting my gallery and allowing me to know yours.
Through Tony (Gracious) already had a reference from your beautiful country and I think I will continue watching your photos. This has called me a lot of attention, for the composition, and the original point of view, with a balanced frame.
Good lighting, sharpness in the foreground and adequate shade.
