Photographer’s Note
Hi all. This is one for Pablo’s barns of the world theme. Not strictly a barn but as close as we get here in NZ. This is a Woolshed. The main function of this shed is somewhere to shear sheep. But having a set of stock yards attached, this is where the bulk of the stock work gets done also, such as drenching, dipping, crutching etc.
In many rural areas the woolsheds are the largest buildings around and are used for social gatherings also. In fact Sue and I had our wedding after function in the woolshed on Sue’s parents farm.
This woolshed is on the Turakina Valley road about one hours drive from Turakina township.
In WS another angle with more PP.
Enjoy, Paul.

Hello Paul,
A quick check tells me this is the first barn from not only NZ but also the Southern hemisphere all together!
And a fine specimen it is, fully qualified indeed...
A well composed presentation, good details in the structure!

This is a very good picture to be added to Pablo’s theme. I have been myself trying to get one but no luck up to now. You have a perfect definition and we can see all the textures on the barn walls. The colours are also very good as it is the POV. Well done.

Hi Paul
A nice tribute to pablo. I like the colour contrast of warm vs cold between the blue sky & yellow & red of the cottage. Tfs!

Hi Paul,
a real lack of red! But a nice barn. The b&w has in my eyes a more punchy POV. Good strong contrasts and colours (not in the b&w ;-)
Nice addition for Pablo.

Hi Paul,
A "woolshed" - thats a term we don't know about in Canada! I love barns so this shot caught my attention immediately. I really like the grey barn-board but was just thinking, this shot would have worked well too if the bottom were cropped just abit. None the less, a striking shot and thanks for sharing. Gerald

Hello Paul! Yes it's fun to shoot with a theme in mind helps to stimulate the creative juices. Weathered structures with lots of character like this one make great photos. I wonder how this would look converted to BW.

Bets regards.

Hallo Paul,
Nice to see these old barns, there's always a large story behind them. The mood is dark which only enhance that feeling from a long time ago...very nice.
I would clone out the wires on the left, but that's just a small detail.
Have a nice day, Henk

Woolshed is close enough to a barn. Both are used for storage anyway. Good shot Paul. The clarity of this picture and the sharpness are excellent. Your subject is very interesting and true is not as colourful as a real red barn but is still attractive. Thanks Paul.

Olá Paul, what a great contribution to Pablo's theme. It seems quite old, all right. I'm a color person and this is in a really good presentation with attractive colors, but somehow your WS pleases me more, not only because of the excellent b&w, but also because of the diferent angle. Anyway, both are very good and I congratulate you for this post and idea.

Well, a nice choice for the collection of Pablo(minto, I believe). The shape is interesting and rather sophisticated, with the low sides and the higher center. I like the color, even the rusted corrugated iron of the roof. Very good sharpness again.
