Photographer’s Note

Hi all. This is one for Pablo’s barns of the world theme. Not strictly a barn but as close as we get here in NZ. This is a Woolshed. The main function of this shed is somewhere to shear sheep. But having a set of stock yards attached, this is where the bulk of the stock work gets done also, such as drenching, dipping, crutching etc.
In many rural areas the woolsheds are the largest buildings around and are used for social gatherings also. In fact Sue and I had our wedding after function in the woolshed on Sue’s parents farm.
This woolshed is on the Turakina Valley road about one hours drive from Turakina township.
In WS another angle with more PP.
Enjoy, Paul.
