Photographer’s Note

As promised in my last post, here is an action shot from Lake Wiritoa. This shows a skier competing in the Slalom event of our regional champs. Here the skier is just entering the Slalom course. This event generally favours tall long limbed contestants but this guy does very well thank you with a mix of technique and raw power.

I'm no waterskier, but I find these man very well done!

Fine panning that gave ample blur on the water surface and a deadsharp skier. I would have liked the guy to be a bit further back with more room in front.

Paul, c'est une photo sportive bien réalisée. J'aime la composition qui place le skieur au centre de la gerbe d'eau qu'il produit. Le sportif est tout à sa concentration pour arriver à un bon résultat. L'objectif a pu zoomer à 210 ce qui explique ce résultat magnifique.

splendid idea, excellent exposure;
just wish you positioned the skier less centrally, i think the splashing water behind him is by far more interesting than the fawn in foreground;
but an overall impression is very positive!

Hi Paul, oh yes i love this one, excellent impression of speed, 1/125 sec was the good setting.
There is just perhaps a little lack of light but the picture is still excellent :)

i/m a fan of dynamic shots - of frozen moments like this one here. the main character's details are very well captured and the splash of water behind him just slightly blurred to suggest the motion - nicely crafted image!
