Photographer’s Note

Autumn in Turakina Valley.
In New Zealand we have no native deciduous trees to speak of so we have to make the most of any exotics that have been planted for our autumn colour. In this case we have some roadside willows that were probably planted as erosion control.

Lovely autumn colours. We have the same trouble here in Australia, in that our only really autumnal colours are from imported trees.

You've captured some beauties here - well done!

Hi Paul,
You have a very nice selection of images in your gallery.This one caught my eye as i really like the basic autumn colours.You managed to cope with the backlight well as the leaves and branches are very well defined and clear.I like the composition of the curve in the road, maybe a lower angle would give more effect.Very nice...TFS.

Beautifull autumn color ansd a nice road turning below the trees. Probably a nice place to visit on bicycles or justwalking.

Fall always brings changes to the world and before it becomes grey and sad, it gives so rich palette of colours that it is a feast for eyes. You captured that period together with a beautiful and peaceful forest road. This picture is one of those rare putting you into thoughts about the nature and its beauty.

Hi Paul,
You've catured such excellent detail in the leaves that together with the light through the leaves it looks likes fine lace. The road curving around the bend beckons you to follow it further into the trees. Just lovely!!
