Photographer’s Note

Hi all. Summer is in full swing here and we have had a golden spell of weather so far with some beautiful sunsets of which this is one.
The river is the Rangitikei and runs not far from my house. About 10 minutes walk with my faithful dog and I’m there and if I time it right I get this view.

Hi Paul,

perfect place for a beautiful sunset, like those colors and mood very much, have some similiar captures in my gallery..
Perhaps a bit more light up in the foreground wouldn´t be bad, nevertheless a fine capture..

Great place only 10 minutes walk from your home. It is good to know that there is summer somewhere on earth. Now I see why our neighbours will go next week to New Zealand for a long holiday.

Here it's rainy, grey and boring cold weather, 4 weeks and i'm on my way. If i get every evening a sunset like this i sign for it. Wonderful light in the sky and with that river in front it makes it even more nicer in reflection and composition...

Beautiful sunset! The two most striking features are the stunning orange cloud and the ripples on the river tinted by the reflected colour. The diagonal silhouette on the left works well compositionally and the tracery of the thin branches on the trees make pretty patterns against the sky.

10 minutes with no traffic jam or obstruction to your sunset scenery, that is a good place to live. Last week I tried to have sunset hunting but the sun was very illusive when I thought high ISO without tripod could be a good way to experiment. Mostly overcast clouds and I came away disappointed with faint sunset color.

Great color tone.

Un tel coucher de soleil, tu ne pouvais pas le rater. J'aime la beauté de ce ciel qui se reflète dans les eaux de la rivière. Les arbres en contre-jour dessinent comme une dentelle sur l'or du ciel.

Wonderful color and light management. I like the angle you used to frame the river as well.

You should do a theme on the many moods of the Rangitikei. At this point, I think I like this one best, but I can't remember them all.

Apart from the orange cloud, I love the ripples which get highlighted by the sunset colours...beautiful. Good diagonal compo. with the silhouettes left & also the trees on the other bank. Lovely shot!

I think i missed this wonderful golden moment, its always have a pleasant feeling when we seen that beautiful colours in the sky, so fast and we must waiting for another day if we are lucky. My place is in the top of rainy season and indeed i miss this beautiful athmosphere.
