Photographer's Note
In August 2012 the Te Maari Crater in the Tongariro volcano complex erupted after being dormant for more than 100 years. The initial ash eruption was short-lived, but the crater has been emitting steam continuously since then. Will it have another large eruption or just slowly die down? Nobody knows. This photo is a telephoto shot from a lookout near Lake Rotoaira, a few kilometres north of the steaming crater.
I used Photoshop to lighten the dark areas and accentuate the steam clouds.

Hello Vincent,
I like volcanic landscapes very much. So, this one is no exception. Beautiful details in the white cloud coming out of the volcan and nice contrast with the surrounding mountainsides,
