In 1931 a devastating earthquake destroyed the Hawkes Bay city of Napier and the rebuild was primarily in Art Deco style. Each year the city celebrates with an Art Deco weekend. The doorway to the former National Tobacco Company offices is one of the iconic features of Napier & this old Packard completes the 1920s theme.

Hi Neil. Three times in N.Z, and I have as yet to see Napier. We talked about it but it was impractical considering our itinerary. I did photograph the Art Deco cinema in Hokitika which I plan to post later on.Beautiful building and an innovative POV.I see the sky wasn't very kind to photographers. Regards. Klaudio.

I briefly visited Napier in 2004, and for me that is kind of sore memory of missed photo opportunities.
Architecture over there is truly impressive, and you show an excellent example. That care is roughly from the same period and colours match perfectly too. Low angle is strong.

Incredible, which nice cars that constructed in 1931, maybe should the factories must build, the same cars but with a modern interior and technic.
Excellent composition with depth and perspective.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice Sunday,
