Photographer’s Note
Hi all. This is Te Mata peak again. Taken on a flying visit there the weekend before last and a trial for a new wide angle lens.
The Napier/Hastings region is very dry just at the moment but have had a little rain since this photo was taken so may be starting to “green up” some.
In WS another POV.
Enjoy, Paul.

Hi Paul.
Nice work with the 10mm focal length. It really spreads those clouds well. I like the view along the fence on the one side and looking down on the road on the other. Colours are natural looking. I like that patch of green on the brown rolling hills below. Good work.

Bonjour Paul,
cela sent le grand angle et en tous cas, la vue est étendue. Un bon équilibre entre ciel et terre. Un beau mariage de couleurs.
Un paysage simple et presque 100% naturel, invitant à la balade.

Once again, the 10-20mm makes a wonderful picture. I am seriously thing in buy one Sigma or even go to the CANON 10-22mm. It is really very clear and sharp and the sky is simply superb. Well done.
No greens devils available. Sorry for that.

Hi Paul,
It looks brutal dry here, I know the Northland is like this also, and it does no favours for the NZ scenes in my opinion. Bring some liquid sunshine. The workshop is even dryer than this capture. Pin sharp, stunning cloud formations with the fence leading us to the scene.
Im waiting for end of summer now before I head out again, green green grass would have made this even more beautiful. That lens sure looks handy.
Cheers

Hi Paul, Great use of your new WA, one of my most frequently used lenses; I'm sure you'll find it a good acquisition. Hadn't noticed before that we share quite a lot of "kit". I read your response to Antonio, and yes, toes and tripod feet are a hazard and feature in several shots I've taken with that lens. cheers, Steve

Paul,
It is amazing to me always sometimes when I was driving long distance and passing through some place where there is completely nothing around but hills of desert and tumble weeds, but there's the fence that goes a longside with the road, endless. I was wondering why, there is nother that, no cows or anything, but there always a fence. Beautiful sky, nice light, good composition with the fence leading up to the sky. Thanks

Excellent shot Paul; much browner than I imagine NZ. You have composed the image well with the fence emerging from the corner and leading the eye into the sky. That allows us to notice how the lie of the clouds seems to complement the contours of the land, making a very satisfactory composition. Great WS too.

Hi Paul,
good test for your new toy, the wide angle lens offers us a splendid sight of this landscape. The sky is magnificent, the clouds decorate it with great beauty.
I like the luminosity and the chromatic level of the capture, with great naturalness in the result of the composition.

Hi Paul,
Impressive view and compo! You did a superb job using the lines and shapes of the landscape and the scenic cloudy sky, producing a gorgeous photo that has something glorious and makes me want to fill the lungs with that air. The landscape reminds much many parts of Portugal and Spain. Maybe that contributes to make it very appealing to me. I find the mix of brown grass, spots of dark green forest and blue skies very photogenic.

Paul,
regardless of this composition being in brown or green it is a very good one. The play of the foreground to the right and the background to the left provides an incredible feeling of depth to the image and the additional element of that fence underlines that even more. The clouds are excelente with the typical beahviour that is only encountered when workign with a wide angle lens.
