Photographer's Note

Always one of my favourite photographic sites are the gannet colonies of Cape Kidnappers in Hawkes Bay in New Zealand's North Island. No matter how many times you visit this site, it is always different. This photo is early in the breeding season - eggs have been & are being laid, but no chicks have yet hatched. Birds are always wheeling above the colony looking for their mate before coming in for a, at times, clumsy landing. I've taken many photos here over the years - several feature in my gallery - and I always get carried away with my camera.
