Photographer’s Note
It was still in the morning when I was on a whale-watching trip in Kaikoura.
While we were watching and searching for another sperm whale I took the chance to take a shot of the fantastic view you have.
I like esp. the thin green line between the stong blues of water and alps.
The light blue just above the green is the spray from the the sea that seems to hang in the air.

Hi Gunnar.
I, more than the green line I like all diferent kinds of blue you captured in this photo. Thats true that the green line is perfect to create a "break" in the photo, but I prefer the blues.
Well done!

Hi Gunnar,
This is a really cool photo. You are right, the thin green line looks great and splits the dynamic blues well. I really like the misty feel that the spray from the sea gives the photo. Well composed, with the alps and sky taking up 2/3 of the photo, and the sea taking up the remaining 1/3. Very nice shot!

I usually don't like pictures where the colours seem to be "overdone". They always look unnatural and basically just ruined. This is why I'm so happy to see you prove me wrong! VERY nice blues indeed and the green in the middle works very well - and don't forget that little hint of yellow in the sky. Only the foreground is a bit "too much" for my kind of taste - if you could get that one a little less blue it would be perfect!
Apart from the colours, very nice dof and composition!
Congratulations!

Hi Gunnar
Great shot and very special colours this way. Love the soft green part in it.
