Photographer's Note
Taken from my sister & Brother-in-law's farm, this view looks across the popular beach settlement of Tairua on the Coromandel Peninsula. The twin peaks surrounded by houses is Paku, an old volcano connected to the mainland by a tombolo, a strip of white sand which is now Tairua Beach. The first island on the left is Slipper Island & the larger island on the horizon, looking a bit like a crocodile is Mayor Island, named by Captain Cook when he sailed past here in 1769.
