Photographer’s Note
A photo taken on my last trip up Mount Ruapehu. Just metres from my last Ruapehu Waterfall photo, I wish I could tell you the name of these falls but I can’t find it on any of my maps. These falls are about 30 minutes walk from the Turoa skifield road traveling anticlockwise on the “round the mountain’ walk.
Enjoy.
Cheers, Paul.

Hi Paul,
Nice exposure from 1 sec, gives a good DoF too. The sunlight a bit over exposed be the rest is perfect. Good angle in the waterfall as well.
Thanks,
Etienne

Hi Paul. Another good one from your mountain series. This is quite spectacular and has good DOF. Good to see Tramping is alive and well in the Land of the Long White Cloud. Excellent. Murray.

Hello Paul. The falls are very nice. I imagine they would be perfect for ice climbing. Good picture with a bit of overexposed sunlight but nonetheless excellent perspective with good colors. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Paul
Nice shot of the mystery falls. Perhaps these are the same falls that my whitewater rafting adventure near Ruapehu terminated at? Good choice of a vertical format. Tfs!

Hi Paul,
Although the sky on top is a little bit over-exposed, i really like this one. The view through the rock on the left and the tree on the right gives us a perfect view on the waterfall...really beautiful.
Have a nice weekend, Henk

Hi Paul,
I'm glad to see more detail of your walk around the Mountain. The stunning drop of these falls is well framed by the foliage and huge rock of the foreground. I particularly like the way your can track the water from the top of the falls to bottom of the frame. I think a little tighter crop at the top would have avoided all those overexposed comments.

You could name this waterfall yourself :). Beautiful capture through this gorge of rock and trees :). Nice lighting.

Excellent composition with different elements on each side of the picture. It is over-exposed on the sky but it is a beautiful landscape anyway. I like it and I hope one day I can visit the place. Well done.

Hi Paul,
I think a very difficult strolls place around the mountain, through the harshness of the nature, splendid environment and lovely colours show you us also the waterfall between the rocks, nice composition, very well done.
Have a nice weekend,
John.

Hi Paul,
Beautiful countryside. The vertical frame is well chosen. I like the speed you chose to give to the water this effect. Well done

Hello Paul,
Joli cadrage pour cette impressionnate cascade. Le ciel est un peu brulé mais pas facile de bien exposé avec un premier plan aussi sombre.

A beautiful scenery and lovely view. Good compo and lovely lines leading us up to the top:)
But I fel it's way to overexposed on the rock and in the sky.

Hi Paul,
the vertical format works perfectly to catch the spectacularity of that beautiful cascade. Your composition includes pretty elements in foreground, that they increase the quality of all the set. The effect that exposure to 1 s creates on the water is simply magnificent.
Done very well.

Josep

Olá Paul, this is a very beautiful idylic place and your POV seems to be well chosen with this view from a distance. I love the result of the water motion that seems like a veil, falling graciously from the top. Good manage of lighting that is allways dificult to control on the sunlighted spots.
Cheers,

Paul, c'est une belle cascade avec un beau mouvement. La lumière sur les rochers donne du relief aux premiers plans.

Hello Paul
The light, quite contrasting has been handled well. One sees the OE part in the top while the lower half has less light. I like how you've tracked the drop of these falls framed by the foliage and huge rock of the foreground. Well done

It's surprising that these falls are not documented as they are impressive with what seems like a big drop. The slow shutter has worked perfectly to give the soft look to the falls that I like so much, as well as the necessary small aperture giving you an excellent DOF for a sharp photo. The bright light is difficult to deal with. I think Pat has the best suggestion; a crop from the top wouldn't lose too much of importance. A fine image.

Hi Paul - challenging light cionditions, the shadows came out quite well, the sunlit parts are too bright but I cannot suggest cropping out the top of the falls.

Hello Paul,
Une jolie vue de cette chute avec un agréable effet de l'eau qui s'écoule.
Un format vertical qui convient bien et de jolies couleurs.
Un peu dommage pour le ciel.

Hi Paul, what a wonderful and dramatic waterfall. It reminds a lot of the waterfalls that I have here at the Yosemite National Park. Beautiful how the sunlight coes from the left and gives the nice contrasts of sunlite areas and shadows.
Happy New Years!

Hello Paul!
Very beautiful water falls! Nice POV! The lights are nice, but it is a pity the top of the falls. Its always happens with me in this situation. The motion on the waters is perfect!
