New Zealand's famous geothermal Taupo Volcanic Zone is called Whakarewarewa which has some 500 hot spring pools and at least 65 geyser vents, located near Rotorua City. In this view is Pohutu Geyser one of seven currently active geysers. Pohutu is the Maori word for "big splash". It spurts up to 20 times a day and up to 30 meters high.

A very nice scene of this geyser, and a scene that seems to capture the raw power and danger of nature. The little orange area made me think of lava, and at first I thought you may have been a volcanologist got the shot. The stained rock seems to speak of boiling water dripping here. I like that you left the area to the left so we can enjoy thre natural scenery beyond the steam too.

I keep thinking about making a trip to Yellowstone but somehow I always get distracted, maybe one of those days. Awesome capture of nature doing what it does best, shows humans that they are the master and they will do whatever they want. Good lighting and nice details. Well done, tfs.

Taken on the right moment when it exploded, I can't even imgine the thrill, ray - never saw one alike.
Yellow sulphur with water and gas dripping on the rocks.
Amazing force of nature, well collected.
