Hello Paul,

I am not totally sure of the orientation of your view here; the setting sun suggests the right is west, so this might be from a northerly aspect towards Ruapehu? Regardless of the positions, this is a delightful scene, it makes me want to be there enjoying the landscape. We befriended a flock of black swans at Lake Rotorua and fed them scraps of our breakfast in the morning. Were you plagued by sand flies here? It would be a shame to be pestered by them in such a beautiful spot. New Zealand is undoubtedly one of the best places to live in the world - you are very lucky to call it home.

I like the action in this shot, the movement of the birds is a very welcome addition to this attractive low lighting scene. An absolutely perfect place to camp.

I love the peaceful mood over the water. The sunset adds wonderful colours to the sky and especially clouds, which are also nicely reflected in the water. Good inclusion of the ducks and swans in the foreground. Thanks for sharing!

Nicely captured of the sunset over Lake Taupo, and I missed this sort of fine weather when I was there except a grey overcast sky!
perfect pov with sharpness, awesome sky colouration and details and I loved the light reflection over the water

Hi Paul,
Caught good this magic moment of light of the sunset. The scene inspires many peace and gathers a nice marine landscape with a lot of depth and a sky with a few magnificent clouds, in a setting where the diagonal of the beach gives very much dynamism to the composition.
The swan and the ducks add a vital touch to the image, which has a great light and a few perfect tones.

Hello Paul,
From everything that I have seen and read, New Zealnd is a country of unparalleled beauty with rugged mountains and beautiful coastlines. Your beautiful mountains and glaciers remind me of Alaksa (I lived there for a year as a kid). This is a stunning, almost bigger than life seascape/landscape with out of this world looking clouds. Fabulous!

Love the peaceful atmosphere, the luminosity, the colors, reflections and the clouds which add kind of dynamism to the scene. Maybe, it is slightly tilted on the right, but that's not a big deal ;)

Belle photo de cette plage dans les ténèbre, légèrement éclairée par ce soleil discret. Jolies couleurs, superbes nuages colorés par ce même soleil, magnifique reflets. Jolies couleurs et bonne netteté de l' ensemble.

The ducks and swan appear a bit small but then you had chosen to show the wider landscape and that is your own style of composition, and I prefer landscape than just duck and swan for this one.

Not a direct sunset shot and your reply to Matt confirms that. Yes, somebody did say that sometimes sunset may be more beautiful on the opposite side of the sky. I shot that once.

The colours and light are stunning with some beautiful reflections. I love the way the setting sun is colouring the clouds. The best sunsets need clouds and here you have a winner.

Hi Paul, very nice colour and excellent textures picked up, especially in the water and that sky. Those clouds are reflecting a lot of light on what appears might be an otherwise dark scene. The placement of the ducks and swan work well in this composition in presenting some action in the bottom right half.

Paul,
the colors and the light are certainly magnificent and enhances the simplicity of the landscape. So far so good, but the tilt to the right isn't so good. Maybe you got so excited in posting this that you forgot to correct it.

The light & the colours are stunning with amazing reflections of the clouds in the water. Love the way the setting sun colours the clouds & the silhouetted ducks in the FG. The talked about tilt, I think is an optical illusion. I checked this with Picassa & found no tilt on the water line in the horizon. Very good work!
