Photographer's Note

A panorama of White Island taken from near the crater. The distinctive features at back are the Pinnacles and Troup Head. Note the group on the mound at left. The Island, being an active volcano, is a fascinating spot for photography. Very colourful and ever-changing. I have visited the island a number of times with groups and it has never been the same. The island is situated about 50 kilometres of the North Island coast in the Bay of Plenty & access is very more governed by sea conditions on the day &, of course, by volcanic activity. Well worth a visit on any trip to New Zealand.
