Photographer’s Note

Piha is located on the West Coast to the north of the Manukau Harbour.

This beach was the birthplace of the NZ board riding in 1958 and has hosted national and international surfing competitions.

Very nice light. Foreground and background in good balance. Great beach. Nice half cloudy sky. All that you need for a good landscape picture.

Hi Nicolas,

what a beautiful beach. The dark sand is very diferent from the almost white sand of my city. I like the colors and the rock formation.
I work collegue are in New Zeland for study, I think she is enjoying this pretty place a lot.

I thought I had commented on this photo. Very beautiful view, natural colours, very well composed image! I like the greenery in the FG :) Looks like a very lovely place to walk about... :)
