Photographer’s Note
Auckland City, taken from the beach at Devonport, on the North Shore.
In the Maori language, Auckland is known as Tamaki Makau Ra, the city of 100 lovers. It earned this name because it was a place desired by all and conquered by many.
The Auckland region is a mixture of so many different geographical environments, with three harbours, two mountain ranges, 48 volcanic cones and more than 50 islands.
Auckland's population is approximately 1.4 million, making it by far the largest city in New Zealand, with one third of the country's entire population.

Hi Janice,
So that's what Auckland looks like. Very nice shot of this busy city. Beautiful sky with wonderful clouds, I know why they call New Zealand the land of the long white cloud.
Composition is wonderful, the vertical frame crams the city scape well and shows the harbour perfectly.
Very nice capture.

Hi Janice,
Not a new PoV. But it looks fresh anyway. Very careful framing showing that cloud on top and slice of sand on the bottom. And that bigger cloud mass is impressive. The city center looks better from the distance than from the street level.

Hallo Janice!
You show us an impressive view here and I like the skillful composition of your picture. The big space of water in your photo underlines the situation of this city very well and the wonderful cloud reminds me of the word "Aotearoa". It seems to protect the city somehow here. Your "POV" must be a wonderful place ...
Greetings from grey and wet Germany - autumn is here ...
