Mana Island, Fiji

Don’t you just love the colours of the water here? This is the view of Mana Island that I took as I was walking around the western half of the island. I have such wonderful memories of my holiday there…

Fiji is an archipelago of over 300 islands (about 100 are inhabited) scattered across 200,000 square miles of ocean. The islands are primarily volcanic in origin with high rugged terrain. Other smaller islands are of coral or limestone origin. The largest island and population centre is Viti Levu, and Fiji's international airport is located at Nadi in the north-west. Fiji is blue lagoons, stunning white beaches, colourful fish-filled reefs, lush forests, and is home to around 780,000 friendly people. The population consists of approximately 50% Fijians, 46% Indians with the remainder being European, Rotuman, Chinese, and other Pacific Islanders.

Climate:
Fiji enjoys a warm and pleasant temperature throughout the year - average 72°F / 22Cin the mild, dry season of May through October, and 78.5°F / 26C in the warm, wetter season of November through April. Dress for Fiji is cool and casual, though swimsuits and brief attire should be confined to beaches and hotel swimming pools.

Hi Janice, perfect pic of a place that seems to be perfect; superb colors and sharpness; the foreground, ocean and sky superbly captured. Great stuff Janice, I like he detail in the foreground rocks. The saturation and POV are excellent. I stayed in hut right on the beach at Nanuya Lailai island in the Yasawa group and often was the only person swimming in a lagoon with crystal clear water...magic!

Janice,
When winter sets in and the weather here turns nasty, I say we should all pack it in and go to this place! I reckon I'd adapt to the pace here in about.......... *thinks*........ 30 seconds.
I see what you mean about the beautiful colour of the water. The colours of the sky and landscape look really inviting in this image as well.
You have another nicely composed, well lit, and beautifully sharp image here. Keep up the good work!

Hi Janice,
It really is bright and sunny picture with Pacific islnads feeling. I especially like rocks in the foreground. I like to find my path across rocks in low tide and see what tidewater pools reveal. It's a pity that I have so rarely chance for that. The Baltic Sea has no tide whatsoever.

Great shot to look at on a dull winters day with the outside air temperature of 2 deg C. Apart from that Janice it's a good composition.

It looks really like a paradise. Relaxing, beautiful and with a great weather. The compostition, colors and light are superb. I can see you have the latitude/longitude of this place. As a suggestion you could filled the locatioon feature with these coordinates when you upload the photo. It would give us a sattelite image from the area. Just a suggestion.

Hi Janice - beautiful view, the placement of the horizon and objects are great, and there is enough interesting cloud cover to fill the sky. The colour of the water is so amazing, I wish there was less rock and more water in the FG.
