Photographer’s Note

Castaway lies about 30km west of Nadi. Only one hotel. And in my diary I wrote: Every days before dinner is a beach volleyball match "Fiji" against "The World".

The picture is captured from the boat which brings us to the main island. Scanned from a negative from 1995.

Hi Achim,

The point of view leads our eyes toward the island of Castaway which is giving depth to the composition. The presence of the boat has an effect of scale. The cloudy sky is giving darker colors to the tropical scenery. have a nice day.

Splendid Island in background, nice place for a good vacation, the small boat is the real eye catcher in foreground. Good perspective and depth, lovely mountain landscape.
You show us an excellent picture with a wonderful subject.

An interesting tropical scene with the added dimension of the little boat being towed along. Pleasing light with good colours and sharpness.

It's not the colours we think of when we think of Fiji, but certainly looking at the island with the small beach around the forested mountain is beautiful. Your high POV works well.

I think this is an expensive trip by boat to a lonely island just have an only hotel, natural color and lightiung to show dim scenery at a cloudy day, distinct photo, good shoot.

Le scan est assez bon pour nous donner une belle photo de ce coin paradisiaque. J'aime cette plage au loin où il doit faire bon se prélasser et se baigner.

Hi Achim,
A well scanned slide, it kept a fine luminosity uneder an overcast sky. sharpness and colors look natural too.
