Sun Set Match Photo

Photographer’s Note

Well I can happily put this image under the category of Daily Life.

Luckily for these Fijian locals, playing volleyball while the beautiful sun sets is a daily thing. It was hard to pull myself out of the game to take this photo, although it was all in fun, they still take the game seriously. Arguing in their own native tongue about whether a ball is in or not is a unique situation. You can only look at the other tourists with you and just laugh.

The photo is taken at Korovou, which is on a small island in the Yasawa group of islands west of the mainland.

Decreased brightness and increased contrast slightly to make a full silhouette of the players as well as to bring out the clouds more.

This picture reminds me of my childhood,when I too use to play vollyball, nice composition great colors,

Maybe you should have cropped the right part to avoid seeing the branches of the tree

Great shot. I love the low point of view and the sunset colours are lovely with nice sharp silhouettes.
One very minor point is that I wish the ball was a little higher so that is was in front of a brighter bit of sky.

Wonderful shot, composition and colors! I nearly didn't open it, thinking it's just a sunset. Fortunately I opened it. On that way with the match, that's absolutly great!

Not a typical sunset shot (a good thing), but an image of a game in the late hours of the day. There is a good action going on, all the players are looking at the ball in the air, there is some excitement here. The exposure is very good, so are the colours. I like your crop except for the branch on the right.
