Octopus, a photo from Northern, North

Merry Christmas! Today my post is colorful and with many details, like a Christmas Tree!
Diving the wonderful Somo Somo Strait at Taveuni, on the Northern Group of Fiji, you can be face to face with any kind of Ocean animals. This specific dive was unforgetable, like all dives in Fiji! There was strong currents, and so I almost lost the chance to take this picture. I was diving between 25 to 28 meters when suddenly I saw this octopus coming fast to me and grabbing this corals just at my face. So, I´ve tried to stop and unfortunately I just had one chance to take this picture, because the current take me on. Considering the rare and beautiful situation, I start to pray to have lucky with the result you see in this picture. I used Nikonos V, 35mm lens, flash SB105, and Provia 100. Cheers!

Nice and colourful picture. I wish that you would have been a little bit closer to the octopus, but I now how hard it is to take pictures in strong currents.

An amazing photo, colorful, well composed even though you were moving away in the strong current. You have a wonderful place to dive.

Wow.. this is great Jose. Sorry it took me so long to find it. The color is outstanding, you must have a powerful strobe to get these to come out. I've always dreamed going to someplace like Fiji and this picture only feuls that desire. Thanks for sharing.

Your underwater is just splendid! I've never seen before such vivid underwater colors. The octopus also can change its color, can it? I'll add this photo as a favorite.

Nossa, não acredito jose. Mergulho é maravilhoso, fotografia é fantástica... e os dois reunidos nao poderia ser uma experiência melhor!

A natureza é linda de matar mesmo, essas cores estão divinas!!!!!
