Photographer’s Note

Yet another view of the Pacific Sun cruise liner.

There was some interesting news about this ship yesterday (21 Nov 2008). It actually went on a rescue mission.

"FOUR sailors stranded on a reef 500 nautical miles (926km) off the Queensland coast after their yacht ran aground have been rescued by a cruise ship."

"AMSA [Australian Maritime Safety Authority] requested P&O divert its ocean liner, en route from Vanuatu to Brisbane, to rescue the crew."

"P&O's Pacific Sun, with almost 2000 passengers and crew aboard, changed course about 4.30am to rescue the sailors, an operation that took just over one hour."
