Photographer’s Note
Lake Cootharaba approximately 160km North of Brisbane. This photo of a kangaroo seemingly defying the laws of gravity was taken early in the morning before sunrise.
Actually...Lake Cootharaba is around 5-6km wide but is said to be only 1.5m deep in the center. The depth of the water only gradually declines to the center. Hence, although the kangaroo is more than 50 metres from the bank the water is very shallow, creating the illusion that it is actually hopping on water!
I've never seem this kind of behaviour before. They seem to hop along the the water foraging for food.
As the photo was taken before sunrise it was difficult to get a clear shot. Nevertheless amazing behaviour...

What a lucky capture Janesh...It would also go well in the "humurous" category. Technically speaking, it could be lighter & more contrasty, but for the 'spur of the moment' type of capture it was you did a great job! Love it, Goes to my Favorites
