Photographer’s Note
London Bridge is falling down,
Falling down, Falling down.
London Bridge is falling down,
My fair lady.
This great rock, near to Port Campbell is called London Bridge. It used to be connected to the land by a double span and one could walk out to the very end. However, on a Sunday night, in 1990, without any warning, just like in the ancient song, the inner arch fell into the sea. The dozens of people who had been watching the sunset there had left, so ,lucky, no one was killed. One couple were stranded out on the rock and had to be rescued by helicopter. It stands near the end of the Great sea road, which was built along Victoria's rugged coast after the first world war to provide employment for former soldiers.
We came to it as the sun was setting and I felt sad because it was too late to get a picture. However, even in a dying light my trusty Canon 40D was able to capture the last rays of the sun and the great waves of the Southern Ocean crashing in.

This is a magnificent view of what is left from the London Bridge. The Ocean Road is, as its name says, great. It is the most beautiful stretch of coast line I have seen in Australia. Well done.
Antonio
PS. I minor flaw is the tilted horizon.

Hi Kevin
Great shot. I too have a 40D and I like what it can do in low light situations. Nicely exposed.

Hi Kevin,
Good capture of this "icon", just kidding mate. It sure does look impressive standing there with the Great Southern Ocean behind it.
Nicely framed and exposed.

Bonjour Kevin

Hello Kevin,
The setting sunlight adds much to the mood of this beautiful composition. Very pleasing colours and excellent clarity; the textures in the rock are especially well rendered.

Hi Kevin,
Impressive natural creation and a bit of light to push up the highlights on the rock, a well proportionned image.
Have a nice day JY

I didn't know this interesting story, Kevin. Nor this London bridge, to be honest. Excellent presentation, along with the note. The picture is quite beautiful with the effect of opening curtain on the sky and the light touching gently the corner of the bridge. The texture of the foam makes an attractive foreground as well.
