I took this photo while riding a camel through our own "Arabian desert". These beautiful sand dunes are a part of Stockton Beach.

Stockton Beach is a vast sandy expanse south from Anna Bay, Port Stephens, NSW. The beach is 32km in length and full of beauty, adventure, history and discovery. The wind-blown sand dunes cover an area of over 2,500 hectares and comprise the largest continuous mobile sand mass in New South Wales. They climb up to 30 metres high with slopes up to 60º. Sand boarders love this! 4WD drive tours along Stockton Beach are also available, showing beautiful views of the dunes, a trip to the Sygna shipwreck and the opportunity to have a go at sand boarding. You can do camel rides on the Anna Bay side of Stockton beach. Mum and I joined the camel train and had a lot of fun. I was riding the camel in the immediate foreground of my photo, named Sissy. My camel was at the back of the camel train, and my mum was riding a camel named Sheba, the one in front of Sissy. Sissy was supposedly the most aggressive camel, but behaved for me :) and Sheba was the oldest one I believe. During the camel rides, Sissy was always trying to go ahead of Sheba and at one stage both Sissy and Sheba became peckish and started munching on some shrubs until they kept getting pulled ahead. Later on, one of the camels in the middle decided it wanted a rest and sat down lol. This gave its rider a fright! We all had a great time riding the camels. It was an awesome experience! I recommend it to anyone. I would have loved to do the sunset camel tour, but we didn't have time unfortunately.
