Photographer’s Note

You walk past lake Albina on a full day walk known as the Main Range walk that takes you from Charlotte's Pass past several lakes and along a ridge line that takes you to the base of Australia's highest mountain - Mt Kosciuszko. To the west the mountains drop sharply away to deep river valleys.
This photo (a scanned negative) was taken in mid afternoon in January when only the odd bit of snow remains. A few clouds were starting to roll in so we had to move fairly quickly back to where we'd parked.
You can appreciate the scale of the area by finding blue tent beside the lake.
