Photographer’s Note

We have a friend visiting from Seattle. One of the more interesting things to do with overseas guests visiting Sydney is the Sydney Harbour foreshore walk, an easy and well sign posted 10 kilometre track that starts at the Spit and winds its way through untouched bushland, and ending up in Manly. The track offers fantastic views of Middle Harbour, Sydney Heads and of course Manly. I took this shot yesterday afternoon. The angle is looking north east into Manly Cove with the Pacific Ocean in the background. The ferry just leaving Manly Wharf is one of the larger ferries operating on the harbour and is on its way across the harbour to the city, ending up at Circular Quay. Arguably, for the traveller this is one of the cheapest and most beautiful boat trips to be had anywhere in the world. If any of you ever get to Sydney, I can’t recommend this walk highly enough. The views are spectacular, and there is any number of Hotels in Manly serving frothing cold beer to quench the thirst of the weary traveller.
